Permanent Total Claim Defenses 2003 – Understanding the Tools of the Trade
1 Law Credit Hour
Educational Objective: The course teaches students how the game of PTD has changed. PTD no longer focuses on dueling SSDI experts, but required vocational analysis, to determine RTW capability. With no job search requirement, how do you defend a PTD claim that requires proving that the worker is capable of performing sedentary work?
Students will learn why the Department of Education is now auditing carriers for compliance on advising claimants of their right to vocational services and what is the most effective strategy to mitigate exposure and settle the file. They will learn the difference between vocational evaluations, reemployment assessments, labor market surveys and transferable skills analysis, and when each is appropriate to use and at what stage in the claim for maximum effectiveness.
This is a must-have CEU for every LT adjuster!
