Since ReEmployAbility opened the doors in 2003, the importance of community service has been the cornerstone of the company’s philosophy. That prominence was undeniable, when ReEmployAbility proudly announced Co-Founder Debra Livingston joining The Spring of Tampa Bay’s Board of Directors.

“Our dedication to giving back to the community is always at the forefront of everything we do as a company,” Livingston said. “Because we are a women owned company, we are drawn to The Spring of Tampa and are amazed by all of the remarkable things they do for these victims of domestic abuse.”

According to their website The Spring, since opening in 1977, has assisted more than 60,000 abused adults and their children. They are one of the largest domestic violence centers in Florida and the first domestic violence agency in the United States to have an accredited on-site school for resident children.

Not only do they provide the victims with shelter, they also assist in getting the victims to rebuild their lives and realize they can be strong and there are people always available to help them along the way.

After attending and sponsoring an event hosted by The Spring at the beginning of the year, Livingston said she was inspired by the survivor’s stories and hearing how many men, women, and children the organization helps every year.

“I was fascinated by the statistics and hearing the stories of what these survivors go through,” Livingston said. “I really feel that the organization is not as well-known as it should be. I immediately wanted to find out more information and spread the message to my network of people in an effort to help get their message out.”
