ReEmployAbility’s innovative Transition2Work program, which connects injured employees with national and local nonprofit organizations, has made a substantial impact in 2024. This unique program enables these workers to contribute through light-duty tasks while recovering, setting it apart and benefiting both the employees and the nonprofits they support.
So far this year, Transition2Work participants have volunteered over 1.2 million hours across 1,900 organizations, creating an estimated $40.6 million in value for communities nationwide. Based on the U.S. Government’s estimated value of volunteer time ($33.49 per hour), this significant impact is a testament to the positive change that Transition2Work makes on injured workers and communities. Over 5,000 Transition2Work participants have contributed to this staggering impact since January 2024.
A Nationwide Community Impact
Nonprofits nationwide are reaping the benefits of ReEmployAbility’s Transition2Work program. With active nonprofit partners in all 50 states and all nonprofit types, the program ensures injured workers can complete light-duty assignments within their medical restrictions. This arrangement benefits nonprofits while supporting injured workers’ recovery and maintaining their connection to their community and employer. Volunteers with diverse skills and experiences handle administrative duties, sort donations, and assist customers, providing these organizations with a reliable source of committed volunteers.
A Committed Voice in the Industry
This year, ReEmployAbility has partnered with WorkCompCollege to provide insight into the lives of Injured Workers with the “Voice of the Injured Worker” segment. ReEmployAbility regularly highlights the impact of light-duty opportunities through its “Stories of Purpose,” focusing on injured workers and their community impact. These initiatives highlight ReEmployAbility’s focus on creating positive change within the Worker’s Compensation industry.
Creating a Difference
“The Transition2Work program not only supports injured workers in their recovery, but also provides essential assistance to nonprofits nationwide, creating a ripple effect of positive impact,” stated Lindsey Bressi, Nonprofit Relationship Manager at ReEmployAbility. ReEmployAbility hears success stories and stories of impact every single day from Transition2Work participants.
