ReEmployAbility is proud to announce that 20 employees have successfully completed the WRPA Certification in collaboration with WorkCompCollege.com. The Workers’ Recovery Professional Associate (WRPA) Certification is a significant achievement in the workers’ compensation field. It allows all stakeholders within the industry to gain a deeper understanding and expand their knowledge of workers’ compensation.

Providing this program to ReEmployAbility employees ensured that our team remains at the forefront of new developments in our field, such as the Biopsychosocial model of workers’ compensation claims and a holistic approach to workplace injuries. ReEmployAbility strongly emphasizes employees’ personal and professional development, preparing us to meet even the most complex return-to-work needs. The participants included employees from all departments and tenure levels, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of workers’ compensation needs to better serve injured workers and clients.

ReEmployAbility Director of Sales and Service, Carlos Cordova explained, “With over 20 years in the workers’ compensation industry, I still learned so much through WRPA. What I love most about the classes is how practical they are, directly benefiting from my daily interactions with both my team and clients. I highly recommend this program to anyone in the workers’ compensation field.” Beyond creating a culture of education within the company, it has built camaraderie within the departments as they discussed the curriculum. This opportunity provided valuable insights to our workforce, ensuring that our organization has the education necessary for success in their roles and that they possess the resources needed to assist our clients, nonprofit partners, and the injured workers who participate in our program.

Each scholarship, valued at $500, was a significant investment in our employees’ professional growth. The WRPA certification provided employees with comprehensive knowledge and a deeper understanding of the workers’ compensation industry. By encouraging professional development, ReEmployAbility has empowered a more knowledgeable workforce, setting the stage for greater success and collaboration. ReEmployAbility Sales Account Manager, Jolissa Chase, stated, “The course, The Psychosocial Landscape of Return to Work was insightful, specifically as it dives into the importance of mental health and the onset of Disability Syndrome. I also enjoyed the injured worker perspective in Creating the Customer Experience & Why a WRPA Mindset is Important and Different”.

By broadening knowledge of workers’ compensation and providing learning opportunities, we invest in their potential and prepare them for future roles within the organization or our industry.

The scholarship program was open to employees through a structured admission process. It required commitment to the program and an emphasis on how the education would enhance their daily work. Although it demanded significant time and effort, the outcomes were gratifying. The WRPA Certification Program offered over 19 hours of content, consisting of 19 comprehensive courses that addressed vital aspects of the Workers’ Compensation field.

Service Team Manager Tyler Hundley said, “WorkCompCollege.com was an incredibly enriching and eye-opening experience. A section that really spoke to me was the lecture about the importance of Emotional Intelligence in the Workers’ Comp world. In my career, I handle thousands of claims per month, with the end goal of having the injured worker return to work. It can be easy to forget that each claim is a human going through a hard time, and this program helped me reconnect to my purpose to listen to the individual more and help as many people as possible find a resolution that leads them to a better life.” We commend our employees for their exceptional efforts and achievements. We are grateful for their dedication to professional growth and commitment to our company’s success.

ReEmployAbility is committed to employee growth and development. This commitment is a cornerstone of our company’s culture, and we will continue to invest in developing our employees to build a more resilient and successful workforce. When asked what motivated her to pursue the certification, Controller Michelle Nihoul stated, “I was intrigued by the opportunity to take this course, as I hadn’t come across formal programs focused specifically on these areas of workers’ compensation. I saw it as a chance to broaden my industry knowledge and gain deeper insights into the experiences and challenges faced by injured workers.  I love that the material’s focus was on Emotional Intelligence and Whole Person Recovery, and how we can positively impact an injured worker by listening and taking the time to truly understand the biopsychosocial factors at play. There is a direct correlation between disability and the effects on mental health and I am glad to see that a program like the WRPA certification through WorkCompCollege.com focuses on this and Whole Person Recovery.”

At ReEmployAbility, investing in our employees’ development remains critical to building a more resilient company. We are happy to celebrate this initiative’s positive impact on our employees’ growth and development.
