The session, “Collaboration in Claims,” will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM and will explore how cross-functional partnerships can help organizations overcome common return-to-work barriers, improve injured employee engagement and support better claims outcomes.
Collaboration among claims professionals, medical providers, and legal stakeholders has become increasingly important as employers and insurers work to improve recovery outcomes and help injured employees return to productive work. To address this challenge, industry leaders from the workers’ compensation, healthcare and legal sectors will come together during an upcoming HUB International event to discuss practical approaches for strengthening communication and coordination throughout the claims process.
The panel will feature Mary Bennett, Vice President of Sales and Client Relations at ReEmployAbility; Dr. Yolanta Potrofsky, Occupational Medical Director at NorthBay Health and Tahoe Forest Health; and Chris Mosley, Partner at Reed Smith LLP.
Representing perspectives from return-to-work, occupational medicine and workers’ compensation law, the panelists will discuss how stronger collaboration can influence recovery trajectories, facilitate communication among stakeholders and create opportunities for injured employees to remain engaged in productive activity while recovering.
Bennett will share success stories from ReEmployAbility’s Transition2Work® program, which helps injured employees stay active through temporary, medically appropriate assignments with nonprofit organizations when their employers cannot accommodate work restrictions internally. The program provides an alternative pathway for maintaining workforce engagement while supporting recovery and return-to-work objectives.
“Workers’ compensation claims are most successful when every stakeholder is aligned around helping the injured employee recover and return to meaningful work,” said Mary Bennett, Vice President of Sales and Client Relations at ReEmployAbility. “The most effective outcomes occur when claims professionals, medical providers, employers and return-to-work partners communicate early and consistently. This discussion will focus on practical strategies and real-world examples that demonstrate the impact collaboration can have on recovery, engagement, and overall claims outcomes.”
Panelists will examine common challenges that can arise during the recovery process, including accommodation limitations, communication gaps and competing stakeholder priorities. Attendees will gain insights into how organizations can develop more coordinated approaches that support injured employees while balancing operational and claims-management objectives.
The discussion is intended for risk management professionals, claims leaders, employers, brokers, healthcare professionals and others involved in workers’ compensation programs seeking to improve outcomes through greater stakeholder alignment.
