Feeding America has been responding to the hunger crisis in America for the past 35 years. Originally founded in 1979 as Second Harvest by the “Father of Food Banking,” John van Hengel, Feeding America has grown to be the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.
Today, Feeding America has a network of 200 food banks across the United States, feeding 46.5 million people at risk of hunger.
Our Transition2Work Partnership
Since 2011, ReEmployAbility has placed over 70 volunteers at 11 different Feeding America locations across the United States. Injured workers in the Transition2work program have been able to contribute to ending hunger by greeting food bank visitors, helping to inspect, sort, and organize donations, packaging food distributions, assembling bags for children and families, and performing office duties such as data entry, answering phone calls, and assisting with mailings.
We are happy the volunteers in our Transition2Work program are able to be part of the fight to end hunger in the United States!
