The Transition2Work Mission
ReEmployAbility is driven by an unwavering passion to ignite a transformative spark for our clients, their employees, and within the community. Whether you are an injured worker in need of rehabilitation, an employer striving to cultivate a culture of inclusivity, an insurance professional seeking groundbreaking solutions, or a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a profound impact, we are here to wholeheartedly support you on your inspiring journey.
In many cases, it is not only our nonprofit partners who benefit from the needed volunteers the ReEmployAbility Transition2Work program provides for them. But it is also the Transition2Work participants who gain valuable experiences during their time volunteering. Butch, a former Transition2Work participant benefitted in many ways during his nonprofit assignment at Enfield Loaves & Fishes. While working within his medical restrictions, he was able to contribute to his community, share stories, and find solace in human connections.

A Transition2Work Nonprofit Partnership: Enfield Loaves & Fishes
The nonprofit, Enfield Loaves and Fishes, is committed to providing more than just a meal by aiming to foster a sense of community for their guests. This soup kitchen, local to the Enfield, CT community, provides meals, aid, and companionship at no charge. Incorporated in 1983, the nonprofit 501(c) (3) has worked towards feeding and aiding the disenfranchised. Enfield Loaves and Fishes has benefitted from the Transition2Work program by fulfilling the organization’s demand for an active list of volunteers.
It is not only the organization that benefits from Transition2Work, but many participants reap the rewards from this return-to-work program that cares. Injured participants benefit from the Transition2Work program by working within their restrictions among others who can empathize with their current situation.
Here’s a Message from Butch About his Transition2Work Experience
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Enfield Loaves and Fishes this past year on light duty assignment while recovering from work-related injuries.
Not knowing what to expect upon arrival, I have been able to witness first-hand the impact that Enfield Loaves and Fishes has on the immediate community The result is both touching and gratifying. The positive effect of providing a warm meal and a safe, inclusive environment to enjoy is a wonderful mission to take part in. Each day I get to witness the generosity of the community through donations of food and of the many volunteers giving of their time in providing a meal.
This year, I was witness to success in the making and tragedies firsthand. It has been a truly moving experience. In writing this, I can’t help but be in awe of how fortunate I am, even in my own trying personal circumstances. I am blessed with food, shelter, and a measure of security.
Along the way, seeing some of our guests improving their quality of life with assistance from the community human services organizations that Enfield Loaves and Fishes partners with has been very rewarding. Just recently, Enfield Loaves and hosted a vaccination clinic that also partnered with a company that provided free cell phone service.
Beyond food and a comfortable environment, we all still strive to meet our monthly obligations of expenses. We can only do as much as we can, but when many pull together we can make a tangible difference. In my short time here, seeing what can be accomplished by a caring community coming together has truly been a blessing.
Thank you all.”
