As the holiday season embraces us with its warmth and cheer, it becomes a time not only for celebration but also for reflection on the spirit of giving. This year, some team members at ReEmployAbility took to their local Tampa Bay community to embody the season’s true essence. In a remarkable display of generosity and compassion, the ReEmployAbility family came together to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

ReEmployAbility team members, across departments, through heartwarming initiatives, dedicated time, resources, and compassion to create lasting memories for the Tampa Bay community during this festive season. Our Accounting Department served food to those in need at the Trinity Cafe as part of the Feeding Tampa Bay initiative. While the IT Department, made its way to Metropolitan Ministries to assist in their preparation for the Christmas weekend. Finally, two members of the Community Care Team took time out of their busy schedules to assist the Humane Society of Tampa Bay as they prepared the location and animals for some holiday adoptions.

From volunteer efforts to creative initiatives that spread joy far and wide, discover how the ReEmployAbility team made a positive difference in the lives of their neighbors, embodying the true spirit of the holidays.

Stepping through the doors of Trinity Cafe is not just an invitation to serve; it’s an immersion into a community where love, empathy, and kindness converge to create a haven for those who need it most. ReEmployAbility’s Accounting Department offered its services to the patrons of Trinity Cafe during the nonprofit’s full-service restaurant hours. When asked to describe his experience volunteering at the nonprofit, Accounts Receivable Associate Alex Figueroa states,

“Volunteering at the Trinity Café was an experience I will never forget. I noticed many different people from different backgrounds who seemed to be going through a tough time. Showing up and being able to contribute to them having a hot meal that day during the holidays meant a lot to me because I know I made someone’s day just a bit easier.”

Feeding Tampa Bay’s Trinity Cafe can be found at three locations across Tampa and St. Petersburg. There visitors can enjoy hot meals, groceries, and benefits assistance screening. To learn more about Trinity Cafe or how to volunteer visit www.feedingtampabay.org.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay provides shelter for homeless and at-risk animals, adoptions, hospitals, and TNVR services for the people of the Tampa Bay community. This holiday season many sheltered animals are awaiting their forever homes. Volunteering is a great way to give back to such a great cause. ReEmployAbility’s Community Care Team members Lianna Martinez and Cesar Andujar visited the nonprofit to show their love and dedication to service and animals. Lianna stated, “I love all kinds of pets which is why I was very happy volunteering at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. As soon as I found out about this place, I didn’t hesitate to volunteer there.” She goes on to explain,

“It is incredible how well attended and cared for they are. The facilities have all the equipment to provide them with the best care. I am truly very happy that there are places like this where the main objective is the well-being and happiness of these animals who bring joy to so many of our lives.”

When Cesar was asked what drew him to volunteer at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, he said, “Lianna and I were looking for a nonprofit we could enjoy and the Humane Society was recommended by our colleague Lindsey Bressi. We wanted to work with animals and it was an amazing choice because we did love walking the dogs and giving them the attention they need.”

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is always grateful for any volunteers to offer their support and resources to the nonprofit. To learn more about how you can give back visit www.humanesocietytampa.org.

Metropolitan Ministries was more than happy to receive a new group of eager volunteers as our IT Department offered a helping hand this holiday season. Our Database Analyst AC exclaimed, “We were equally as eager to help!” The season of giving is upon us and so many people take this time of year to give back to the community. Available duties at the Metropolitan Ministries include cleaning, organizing supplies, and much more. AC continued stating, “We were a busy clean-up crew, lending a hand to the warehouse workers while they worked to close the year.” An important task for this nonprofit that is never short of people in need.

No matter the task, volunteering at your local community provides so many benefits to you and the patrons they serve. In the spirit of giving, take the time to contribute your time and effort to your favorite cause. Everyone needs a little cheer this holiday season.
