Making a Difference in the San Antonio Community
During a technology conference, CRMUG Summit in Texas this year, ReEmployAbility engaged in a distinctive community initiative. The two companies combined their resources to back Boysville, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe haven for children in need. The result was a thoughtful donation that included a brand-new television, stand, and candy for the hardworking volunteers and staff at Boysville.
A Creative Donation Through Collaboration
During the summit, ReEmployAbility’s IT Director Abby Torres, a long-time summit attendee and guest speaker for Inogic’s Maplytics presentation, had the opportunity to work with Inogic’s Maplytics program to transform what was originally a plan to showcase an exhibit booth with rental television and AV equipment into something even more impactful. Rather than simply renting the equipment for the booth, Inogic purchased a brand-new TV, which was donated directly to Boysville after the event.
Boysville, located in San Antonio, Texas, is a children’s home and shelter providing care and services to children in need. Boysville, a long-term ReEmployAbility Nonprofit Partner, has hosted 50 Transition2Work assignments and is grateful for the support of the volunteers. This donation is part of ReEmployAbility’s broader commitment to supporting local communities and nonprofit organizations that positively impact those they serve.

Making a Lasting Impact: Volunteer and Community Support at Boysville
Juan, one of Boysville’s dedicated volunteers, was on hand to receive the donation on behalf of the nonprofit. His dedication and the progress made by all the volunteers at Boysville are genuinely inspiring; from sorting donations to steaming and hanging clothing for their thrift store, there is a flurry of activity. The thrift store, which plays a crucial role in sustaining Boysville’s operations, is a testament to their hard work. Torres witnessed firsthand the tremendous effort Transition2Work volunteers put into ensuring its success.
Reflecting on her visit, Torres shared her experience, noting that everyone she encountered at Boysville took great pride in their work. From the staff to the volunteers, it was clear that everyone was deeply committed to the organization’s mission. She was particularly moved by the pride everyone felt in contributing to the care and well-being of the children in Boysville’s care.

“It was obvious to me that everyone took pride in what they were working on and how they were contributing to the larger mission of supporting the Boysville campus,” Torres said. Roohi Shaikh, CEO of Inogic, expanded on this by stating: “[T]hank you for helping us with [this]. It was great that you were there this time to help us… Glad that it has come to good use, and it was very thoughtful of you to add the sweets along, I am sure they loved it.”
The donation of the TV and candy was well-received, with both volunteers and staff expressing their gratitude for the thoughtful gifts, which brightened their day and helped foster a greater sense of community.
Connecting Business and Community Creatively
This donation story highlights the power of creative collaboration. ReEmployAbility, through its partnership with Inogic, turned an ordinary booth display at a conference into an opportunity to give back to the local community. By identifying Boysville’s needs and working with business partners like Inogic, ReEmployAbility provided tangible support and strengthened the connection between the business community and the people they serve.
This collaboration is a great example of how businesses can creatively contribute to their communities and make a lasting impact through thoughtful donations and partnerships.
