At ReEmployAbility, we take pride in our team’s commitment to making a difference. Our unique benefit of two paid volunteer days for all employees is just one way we encourage giving back to the community. Our team has used these days to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society, the American Cancer Society, and more, showcasing ReEmployAbility’s diverse and impactful community service initiatives. Just last month, employees dedicated their time at Tampa Bay’s Meals on Wheels & A Kid’s Place.

Supporting Meals On Wheels and A Kid’s Place

Our team in Tampa dedicated their time and efforts to support two remarkable organizations: Meals On Wheels and A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay, Inc. By volunteering with these organizations, we deepened our commitment to positively impacting the community and contributing to the well-being of those in need.

Meals on Wheels

The day began with twelve employees meeting at the Meals on Wheel headquarters in Tampa. The unassuming building on MLK stood as the brains behind the operation. Every weekday, Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver hot meals to thousands of housebound and elderly Tampa Bay residents. Meals On Wheels of Tampa provides nourishing meals to local seniors and homebound individuals, fostering meaningful connections within the community. The community connection is one of their core values, focusing on the individual impact that food delivery can make on the community.

After a thorough orientation, ReEmployAbility employees split into groups, hopped into cars, and drove across the area to deliver hot meals to those most in need. Besides fulfilling a critical need, ReEmployeeAbility employees also brought smiles and engaged in conversation with those in the area. Programs like Meals on Wheels allow homebound individuals and older adults to stay independent in their homes and allow them to stay connected to their community while having their most basic needs.

A Day of Meaningful Volunteering

One of our team members shared their rewarding experience: “On Friday, I joined my coworkers in utilizing our paid volunteer day. It was a rejuvenating experience across all areas of my life, spending time in the community and lending a helping hand.” This sentiment was echoed by many, highlighting the personal growth and fulfillment that comes from meaningful volunteering.

A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay provides essential residential services to children in need. Following their morning with Meals On Wheels, the ReEmployAbility team contributed to donations that support the children’s clothing needs and AKP Thrift, which aids their mission. After delivering meals, three ReEmployAbility employees continued their good deeds by heading to a Kid’s Place to support their cause. The day consisted of assisting at the AKP Thrift store.

Looking Ahead

The day was not only fulfilling but also inspiring. We look forward to continuing our partnership with these organizations and making a lasting impact in Tampa Bay. Join us in celebrating our team’s commitment to community service and self-improvement. Together, ReEmployAbility is fostering a culture of giving back and personal growth. Our collective efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of those we serve, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team’s contributions.
